2009 Honors
October, 2009: Salvation Army Honors Ruth and Curt
On October 14, 2009, our founders, Ruth Schwartz and Curt Kinkead received Appreciation Awards at The Salvation Army’s San Rafael Mission Volunteer Appreciation Event. We are honored to count The Salvation Army as one of our partners in serving Marin county seniors and others as they host our Wednesday morning Open Food Day at the Mission every week. Not only do they provide us with the space, they also take all of the leftover bread and include it as part of their food program.
June, 2009: American Red Cross Bay Area Chapter awarded Certificate of Recognition for Good Neighbor, Respecting Our Elders
2008 Honors
May, 2008: Marin County Commission on Aging Lifestyle Achievement award given to Curt Kinkead and Ruth Schwartz for creating Respecting Our Elders as a vehicle to keep themselves and other seniors vital and active.
