To the extraordinary Respecting Our Elders community,

Debra Price Van CleaveAs a board member and volunteer, I am so grateful and proud to be part of our ROE community.

Just before Thanksgiving, I put out an urgent call asking for your immediate financial support to get the van back on the road and cover the cost of renting an interim van–then again, to build up the Sustainability Fund to allow Respecting Our Elders to continue its essential operations.

Well, I am thrilled to report less than one month later that together we did it!

Today, the van is on the road again!

Yes, we are quite the amazing community!

Responsive, generous, resourceful, caring, committed to making a difference…I could go on and on.

Kudos to us!

Here are the detailed results of our recent fundraising campaign:

Not only did we, as a community, provide the $6000 funding needed to get the van back on the road again and rent an interim van, we also raised an additional $8746 towards our $10,000 Sustainability Fund goal! As you probably know, this fund was created to provide enough money in the coffers and coming in each month to enable this amazing nonprofit to continue its vital mission of distributing food throughout the county to help feed approximately 1500 people every week, 52 weeks a year.

We are almost at 100% of our goal!

For eight years, Ruth and Curt have been dipping into their own pockets every single month to cover whatever was necessary above and beyond the donations received to keep the program going and the van on the road. They can no longer do this.

All we need is $1300 more and the expenses for the next 12 months will be covered!!

TWO actions you can take to join me in having Respecting Our Elders be 100% sustainable:

donatenow1. Make a donation right now by clicking on this button.

It can be a one-time donation or you can join the Respecting Our Elders Financial Family with a monthly donation. For example, $35 every month is just pennies over $1 a day—less than you would spend for that coffee drink at Peet’s or Starbucks. If just three of us did that, we would be within pennies of our goal.

If you are already a member of the Respecting Our Elders Financial Family, thank you so much for your ongoing support, and please consider increasing your monthly donation, as I have, if you haven’t already done so.

donatenow2. Spread the word among the people you know by sharing this article anywhere you can (see the share buttons below), along with your invitation to join you as a Respecting Our Elders donor. Just have them click on that button!

On behalf of Ruth and Curt and the Board of Respecting Our Elders, I thank you for your partnership and generous support.

Warmest wishes to you and yours for a joyful holiday and a stellar 2014,

DebraSigRed
